SINGAPORE ? Singapore says it has detained three people this year for terrorism-related activities.
The Home Affairs Ministry said in a statement Monday that the three Singaporean citizens were initially detained by Malaysia, Indonesia and another unidentified country before being deported to the city-state.
It identified the suspects as Jumari bin Kamdi and Samad bin Subari of the Southeast Asian militant group Jemaah Islamiyah and Abdul Majid Kunji Mohammad of the Philippines' Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
It said Samad trained with al-Qaida in Afghanistan while Abdul Majid helped the Philippine rebels procure funds and weapons.
They are being held under the Internal Security Act, which allows indefinite detention without charge.
