owners of a Kindle with Special Offers will soon start receiving local daily deals from AmazonLocal on their screensavers, purchasable directly from the Kindle.
The lower-priced Kindle with Special Offers ($114) and Kindle 3G with Special Offers ($139) already get ads and special offers displayed on the screensavers, but now Amazon is introducing AmazonLocal city deals, starting with New York City and rolling out to all other AmazonLocal cities later this year.
Upcoming NYC offers include a $7 one-hour bike rental in Central Park (normally $15) and $59 for one month of unlimited yoga classes at Bikram Yoga Grand Central ($180 value).
